Dental emergencies happen every day. When you know where to go in a dental emergency, you can experience instant pain relief and reassurance that your smile is going to be OK!
If you or your loved one ever faces a dental emergency, you need a dentist you can trust. You need a dentist who really cares about you as an individual.
Dr. Daniel Sheridan would do anything to get his patients out of pain as quickly as possible. Last year, our patient Nicole called Dr. Sheridan on New Year’s Eve because her dental bridge broke at a party. Dr. Sheridan’s response? “I’m 8 minutes from the office.” At 9:00 PM on New Year’s Eve, our compassionate dentist was with a patient, treating a dental emergency.
Dr. Sheridan once broke a window into his practice for a patient. He hugs his patients and forms meaningful friendships with them. If you have a dental crisis, he will help you as soon as possible to provide immediate relief and comfort.
Here are a few dental emergencies we commonly see, and some ways we advise you treat them until we can see you.
Knocked Out Tooth | Try to place the tooth back into its socket. If that isn’t possible, put the tooth in a container of milk or saltwater and get to your dentist immediately.
Chipped or Broken Tooth | Save the pieces of the tooth if you can. Give Dr. Sheridan a call. Eat only soft foods, and avoid hot or cold food and drink.
Bitten Tongue or Lip | Cutting or biting the tongue or lip can cause pain, inflammation, and bleeding. Use ice and pressure to reduce swelling. The problem should subside quickly, but you can call Dr. Sheridan for further instruction.
Broken Dental Work | Save your dental work and bring it into the office with you. We will schedule a priority appointment for you so that we can reinstall your dental work as soon as possible.
Toothache | A painful tooth may be a sign of infection in the tooth. You can take tylenol or aspirin to reduce pain temporarily. Call your dentist right away so that we can determine the cause of the toothache and permanently alleviate your pain.
No matter what your urgent dental needs may be, our dental professionals will do everything they can to give you a worry-free experience. We believe you should be able to have a relaxing appointment that leads to reliable results.
For emergency dentistry, don’t hesitate to call! We’re here to help at Daniel Sheridan.
